Meanwhile we live in a world that is seven-centered in its thinking, and in his words sick with its seven-centeredness. This is why he treats the present as early rather than late. The form is two centuries old, the recognition a few decades, and the tools for living it, Strategy and Authority, are only now reaching people. It is also a helpful correction when summaries say the nine-centered being began in 1986: the form dates from 1781, and what began in the 1980s was the recognition.
